How It’s Used

You will see “Borneo” used both as a geographic reference and as a strain name. Vendors sell strains labeled “Red Borneo” or “Green Borneo,” indicating the general origin. Since most kratom comes from Borneo regardless of what it is called, the practical difference between a product labeled “Borneo” and one labeled “Bali” may be minimal.

Vendors who emphasize transparent sourcing may specify which region of Borneo their kratom comes from, for example, West Kalimantan or Kapuas Hulu. That level of detail, combined with batch-specific Certificates of Analysis, gives you a more complete picture than the strain name alone.
