Extracts are available as powders, capsules, liquids (tinctures or shots), and resins. Extract “shots”, small bottles of liquid extract, are commonly found in convenience stores and gas stations, making them one of the most visible kratom products in mainstream retail.
When evaluating extracts, look for clear labeling of the concentration ratio, total alkaloid content verified by a COA, and serving size guidance. The price per gram is higher than plain leaf, but the effective cost per dose may be comparable due to the smaller amounts needed. If you are new to kratom, starting with plain leaf powder is the recommended approach, extracts are better suited for experienced consumers who understand their individual response and can dose accordingly.
