How It’s Used
Consumers typically steep crushed leaf in hot (not boiling) water for 15 to 30 minutes, then strain the liquid. Some add lemon juice or citric acid to the steeping water, as acidic conditions are known to improve alkaloid extraction. The spent leaf material is discarded after steeping.
In vendor catalogs, crushed leaf occupies a smaller niche compared to powder, capsules, and extracts. It appeals to consumers who prefer the ritual of tea preparation or who find other consumption methods unappealing. Pricing is generally comparable to powder on a per-gram basis, and the same quality standards apply, look for batch-tested products with a Certificate of Analysis (COA).
